I was kinda eyeballing this gay werewolf architect story set in Portland, thinking mayybeee, if it’s under $6 mayybeee…and then I saw that a big part of the plot revolves around a home renovation and since I’ve spent the last 2 days reading historical building preservation sites for that Devil Makes Three story it really just counts as doing research. Yes.

I thought you scrapped that because people got all creepy about it?? But if you are revisiting it that’s super cool because I thought it was real nifty

It is sort of hilarious to me because there are all these crazy messiah-like figures and epic rebel leaders and stuff like that, but I’m going to focus on two fairly random dudes trying to kill each other and just use the drama going down as a background noise. I imagine there might be a little Skylark at some point though because he is helping lead the revolution on New Water.

There are two of these built in murphy beds that pull out of the wall. Therefore our closets are long and have steps. There is a very large pantry in that kitchen.

It is a long ass civil war epic on some planet’s moon somewhere. With starships run on whale oil. Seriously. That is what I am working on now.

Dr. Aloysius Smart was twenty-eight years old when he found himself flat on his back, soaked to the bone with mud and rain and blood, staring down the barrel of a gun. Ulysses face was white with pure rage, a snarling feral mask of contempt, as if the man was prepared to rip his throat out with his very teeth. “You fucking traitorous bastard.” The summer storm continued to let loose a tremendous downpour all around them, adding an extra bit of drama to the current proceedings and forcing Ulysses to shout over the chaos of it all.

A sick panic was thrumming through Aloysius’ veins. “Where’s Idola?” he demanded. “Where’s Idola? What have you done to her?” He tried to sit up and nearly blacked out from the pain. His left arm was badly broken and more than likely at least one rib.

“Shut your mouth, you filthy snake. Shut your mouth for good. I swear, you are never going to say my sister’s name again.” Aloysius eyes fluttered shut as Ulysses pulled the trigger. He felt a strange little revolt inside, a screaming protest that he wasn’t ready for the grave, didn’t much care to be gunned down by his arrogant, entitled brother-in-law like some family shame that could be exorcised through the disfigurement of flesh and bone. In life, Aloysius’ face had been the only thing other people had ever envied of him and so it made a kind of sense that Ulysses would make a point of taking that too when he took his life.
